Maria Prudente is a Washington, D.C.–based culture writer and essayist whose work explores the intersections of power, gender, media, and the arts. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Salon, The Daily Beast, and Observer, among other publications. She holds an M.A. in Cultural Reporting and Criticism from NYU.
